The Castle Green Hotel In Kendal - Kendal, United Kingdom 

Went to Castle Green for a Hen weekend , the hotels was booked months before our stay, When we arrived to book into our room for three people with three single beds we were told they did not have this room available and made no effort whatsoever to rectify the problem they just chose to blame our party for not booking the rooms correctly and their solution was that one of us should share a double bed in another room with a person we hardly knew when we said we were not happy with this the manager shrugged her shoulders and said she didn't know what else to suggest, in the end we had to have a fold out bed in a double room and we had to force them to let us do this. The rooms were very small and the clenliness was a little questionable The girls arriving the previous night found that one of the beds had someone's dried vomit in it, The food and drink were incredibly overpriced (2 x 175ml glasses of wine and half a larger was just under ?11) the only really positive thing i found was the breakfast which was really nice. In short if you are looking for good customer service, clean surroundings and value for money this is not the place for you.

this is a very busy hotel with large gardens just outside kendal.it is trying for 4 star status which reflects on the prices but you get quality here.the reception staff were very friendly and booked us in quickly.we were given a room suitable for disabled people and it was massive and had a large sparkling bathroom with thick white fluffy towels.there is a leisure centre on the ground floor with a warm pool,steam room and a gym which all looked new as it had been refurbished recently.the leisure centre is accessed by a lift.it did not seem very busy in the centre for how large the hotel is.the greenhouse restaurant was expensive but we ate in there for breakfast.for our meals we used the pub alexanders which is in the grounds of the hotel.they have a main menu and a specials board and the prices are reasonable.we could not say anything bad about the hotel.towels for the pool and gym are provided by the leisure centre if you are resident.
