We visited the Hall Garth for a spa/gym weekend and for the peaceful surrounds. We were not let down. Very friendly staff in the both the hotel and recreation centre and all the gym, pool and sauna facilities that we were looking for. The spa treatments also couldn't be faulted. We stayed in the newer non-smoking wing of the hotel. The room was modern and spacious, but we agree with the comments in some of the previous reviews that the walls could do with some extra insulation. We could hear clearly the television and conversations of people in the neighbouring rooms, but luckily they went to sleep early. Overall though, a great location, friendly staff and good value for money for a spa/gym break or just a weekend away.

We stayed for one night in December as we were attending a Christmas Party Night. We decided to go for a suite as we had a bit of a reduction on the price with going to the party night. The four poster bed in the room was lovely and very comfy. However, we were very disappointed that there was no shower in the room - I had to rinse my hair with a cup. We did complain though and got some money off. The rest of the furniture in the room was pretty tired and old and the room was absolutely freezing cold - definitely take a hot water bottle if you go in winter! The swimming pool, sauna etc were lovely and the staff very friendly and helpful. Had a coffee in the pub which was fine. The Christmas meal was the usual mass catered school dinner type of affair (and a bit steep at £30 per head). My husband had the christmas pudding and ate it in one mouthful it was so small! Breakfast OK, plenty of choice. Could definitely benefit from a refurb.
