After reading some of the reviews on here, I was slightly dubious about staying here, however as It's only for one night and planned to be out and about most the day and evening, I thought what the hell, It's just somewhere to rest the head. When we checked in, the girl was very friendly, when she asked if we were staying for any particular reason, my wife mentioned it was our anniversary next weekend, and kindly she gave us a bottle of rose and had an ice bucket and two glasses sent up. The room was clean, a little small, but fine. Spent most the day doing the tourist thing, Turkish baths, Bettys, art galleries, shopping so didn't really spend much time there. The previous year I had stayed at the Majestic, now Barcelo and I can say that this place is much better and cheaper than that place. If money is no object then you might want a luxurious place, however for ?70 per night, this was great.

There was a wonderfu looking lobby and the staff were very polite and helpful. The room however, although very comfortable was very shabby with peeling paint and wallpaper. Breakfast was below average as the hot food was tough and greasy.
