This guest house is well located being not far from the centre. I've read people complaining about the area, but really for Glasgow it's fine! Because I booked late and had to move every few nights, I actually slept in 3 different rooms. All of them were modern and clean enough. However, it was a bit cold at night in some of them, and there were no extra blankets in the rooms. Watch out for room 58 as there was a water pump or heater in the wall that made a random loud noise throughout the night. It may have been fixed by now since I did mention it at reception, but who knows! Had to pay upfront each time I took a new room, which didn't bother me, but I know is a problem for some. Staff are very helpful, especially at breakfast where you can get a reasonably sized full breakfast. Very little space for parking, but good access to buses.

This Guest house was excellent for its proximity to the School of Art just down the road, and for its central position for exploring on foot 15 mins either way, the city centre and the older West side of the city with its cobbled streets, parks and university. The staff were friendly and welcoming, homely, resourceful, yet you could also be anonymous quite happily. A real mix of clientele made it feel very European. Breakfast was tasty, arrived promptly, hot freshly cooked. Rooms were clean and comfortable, with opened sash windows for fresh air and birdsong in the morning, otherwise very quiet, given its location on Renfrew St. Possibly the perfect definition of a guest house, with excellent value for money.

Unfriendly welcome - I don't like having to settle a bill on arrival and I certainly don't like writing my home address in a visitors book ( open to all ) to let people know that my home is, therefore, vacant whilst in Glasgow ( use a fictitious address - I did ). So, the hotel : dark, dingy. The room : pathetic lock that any decent burglar could have picked in seconds, filthy stained carpet, window that didn't fit, so the draught moved the curtains 6 inches. The other residents : noisy at 3am, didn't seem to care.. And the breakfast : "would you like Full Scottish Breakfast ?" "Yes, please".............so, egg, one piece of bacon, half a cold tomato, baked beans, potato cake...if that is a FULL Scottish breakfast then I'm a Dutchman ( I'm not ) Sadly almost all the fellow diners were foreigners who wouldn't have a CLUE what a FSB is. For the record : where was the sausage, Lorne sausage, mushrooms, Black pudding, fried bread that constitute a REAL Scottish breakfast ?????? Overall : an awful B&B that I cannot recommend to anyone.
