3Best thing about this hotel was its location - close to sites I wanted to visit, museums, restaurants, pubs and shopping. The room was large. But the rooms could use a refurbishing. One drape was hanging partially off the rod, bedspreads were fraying, sheet was torn in the room next door where another family member was staying.
The shower curtain was too short and from the pressure of the water it wrapped around you when you took a shower - very annoying. The evening I arrived I took a shower and when I went to turn off the water the shower handle along with a plastic ring came off in my hand. I could not re-attach it as water continued to flow. Hotel staff came to fix it. But there was always enough hot water and the water pressure was very good.
Rick's restaurant for breakfast was OK. However, they couldn't or wouldn't cook our scambled eggs to the consistency we like. They always came too soft and runny.
We enjoyed our stay in Edinburgh but aside from the great location $250 (exchange rate of American dollar is terrible) was a bit expensive for a room that showed a good bit of wear.
