- The bedrooms were large with lovey en-suit bathrooms some with Jaccuzzi baths. Service was efficent and friendly in reception and in the restaurant, and The food in the restaurant was brilliant! The hotel is on a quiet road so you don't get much traffic noise. At certain times you have to pay for parking as there is no off street parking.. Read review
Posted: Apr 03, 2005 - Through a number of unfortunate circumstances, we found ourselves in Edinburgh on a Friday night without a hotel room. After trying most of the hotels in the city, we found the Royal Terrace Hotel was the one of few that actually had spare capacity. I stayed in this hotel in 1999 and found the standard of the rooms and service to be good. We arrived in the evening to be given a room on the second floor which seemed to be a converted housekeeping room next to the lift shaft. After complaining to the receptionist, a number of times we were given two other rooms on the second floor which were also unsuitable.. Read review

Posted: Mar 14, 2006 - member - Two of our party had rooms on the second floor. One had a nice view over the gardens, one had a good view towards the estuary, so both these rooms were ok. Unfortunately we had a room in the basement with a view of a brick wall. Our bathroom was adequate and had heating. Our room had no heating, which we realised in the small hours - the outside temperatur was -3, and being below ground level it was absolutely freezing. Apart from this, our room was old fashioned, with peeling wallpaper. The pool is small and its changing facilities are Dikensian. Having said all of this, the staff are lovely and the food was great.. Read review

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights in November and we must say the staff, room and hotel were fantastic, especially the staff very helpful, we upgraded to a deluxe double for £40 a night and it was well worth it the room was enormous and the bed amazing, huge and very comfortable, only slight problem......
