What Travellers Like

The hotel is in a great location on the Royal Mile and a 2 min stroll to Princes Street. Checking in was fine and the room had the wow factor. Each room is themed and our room was very spacious with a great view down towards Princess Street. Breakfast was very nice and filled us up for the rest of the day. The bar staff were very friendly but the bar was very smokey (the ban comes in next month anyway).. Read review

Okay, so it WAS 56 stairs to the room (it would be more to the top floor) but even two completely out-of-shape Canadians could handle that. Our room was clean and comfortable, and, being the John Logie Baird room, decorated with television equipment. The bar downstairs (also the reception desk) is well-stocked and serves good food, including a breakfast that was comped with the room.. Read review

Loved the room, good breakfast.

Very noisy location especially on a saturday night, the Raddisson next door is in fact better value and i wonder there aren't more bathtub related incidents.

Would consider staying again to view the other rooms are like and the location of this hotel is amazing. The staff is friendly, good to have late bar facility in a good pub.

We could see evidence that Festival Inns have made attempts at keeping pigeons off the balconies outside, the bathtub is way too high for short people.
