Traveling regularly, value is essential, and as many big 4/5 star hotels come with big rates it is always a gamble on if it will prove to be value. I was delighted with the value i received at the Holyrood. not cheap but worth every penny with attentive service, fab food and terrifically comfortable accommodation.

Spent christmas thrugh new years. Absolutley fantastic staff! Best holiday ever, comfy beds, quiet, excellent dining. The staff was very accomodating and plan to return in 2 weeks!

Stayed here for two nights on business. The hotel was welcoming and the room clean, spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was ok although service wasn't that good - they could have done with more staff. The location is great for exploring Edinburgh.

The hotel was okay, nothing remarkable. Our hotel room had a huge stain on the carpeting, wallpaper was peeling and it was dusty. We had no view and were right next to the elevator. Very strange sockets in the room that would not fit our converter and had to get help in finding a socket for the hairdryer, the person who came to assist finally found it in the drawer of the desk. Bad internet connections in the room as well. Next visit will be more in the city centre, which will be closer to activities and restaurants. Staff were friendly.
