4Maybe more a Guest House than a Hotel.
The hotel has been recently refurbished. The room assigned to us was not too big, but clean with all the services (complimentary tea boiler, whisky and gin included). A complimentary copy of the daily newspaper is available at the reception for every client (you just have to pick up your own copy).
The breakfast (continental or british) is really great and good.
We took the offer "theatre breaks" just to see the Musical "Cats" : they really reserved a couple of very good places. They reserved the taxi from the hotel to the theatre. On the way back we decided to return by feet, and it was a nice stroll.
The hotel is a little away from the town centre (take about half an hour to go to the Royal Mile by feet), but if it is not raining it is not a problem ,and we were lucky: no rain).
The main road to the centre is full of guest houses and not too much shops until you are quite close to the Royal Mile.
Close to the Hotel there is a very good Bangladesh Restaurant we tasted.
The guests are very kinds. If you are talkative and want to know something about the city etc. just wait for David (if it is not outside following the rugby Scotland team).
If you come by car, please ask, because for sure they have a not too big parking area in front of the hotel (say about 3 cars), but maybe they have something on the back (We don't know about it).
Surely a nice place to stay when back one day in Edinburgh.
