Dining

The Atholl started life as a private dining room for guests. Its elegant, flower-filled, Georgian setting, intimate atmosphere, fine wine list and expertly prepared modern Scottish menu attracted an enthusiastic and knowledgeable local clientele as well. Today, the Atholl has evolved into a sought-after restaurant that is one of Edinburgh's best-kept secrets.

The restaurant can only seat 14 people at a time, so reservations are strongly recommended.

Alternatively, you can dine in the comfort of your own room. Select your meal from the à la carte menu and dinner will be served to you by your dedicated butler. Room service is available 24 hours a day.

A range of options are available for breakfast, including a full traditional cooked Scottish breakfast, as well as a range of lighter options. For a little luxury and some well-deserved pampering, you can even choose breakfast in bed.

  • The exceptional service started a month before arrival, when I received an email from the hotel asking whether we had any special requests for travel arrangements. We stayed in a twin room named the Hanover. I requested and was given a tour of the other grades of rooms. The Howard's website does not do their rooms justice. The room was spacious with a LCD television with free internet access.. Read review
