Grand Hotel Prisank - Kranjska Gora, Slovenia 

We have just arrived back from this resort and thought we'd share our experience as we found others helpful when booking. We found the hotel very clean and friendly. There is a lovely bar in the hotel and a pub in the basement which is quite a secret we we're there three days before we discovered this , it has a nice pool room that's great for entertaining the teenage kids as apart from the skiing there is not much else to do in the resort. All the hotels in the area are owened by the same company and facilities such as pools are shared. This seemed to be the quietest hotel and was really lovely. The food was very good and we found something for all to eat with quite a good variety. The restaurant was more like a food hall though but very clean. The weather was not good for us with three days of rain but I think we were just unlucky as the locals say they don't usually see rain and the snow is usually very good.This did not interupt the skiing as the snow was artificial. The ski school although having some good instructors and friendly people we're not the best at putting people into groups of there ability and we had people on their second year of skiing and still ploughing mixed with the advanced skiers which doesn't work too well. It seems to be run more on the numbers that turn up and not on ability. This resort is definatly best suited to beginners and is a very laid back kind of ski holiday.My husband and son tried snowboading this year and had a great time and a very good instructor so that was a plus. One nice thing in regard to the skiing is you can also try night skiing which was good fun if you have any energy left by then. All in all we had a good weeks holiday but found better ski tuition elsewhere so will not be returning.
