Unfortunately we didn’t think it was anywhere near as good as other reviews suggest. Good points are a lovely and quiet location, nice residents lounge, a great breakfast and friendly proprietors and staff. Bad points are a mattress so old, ridged and uncomfortable that it was like trying to sleep in two wheelbarrows side by side. Some electric outlets in the room were by means of extension leads and sockets on which the testing was 2 years out of date. The kettle was on the floor; the TV was ancient and the aerial wires faulty and bare. There was a redundant light and shaver fitting behind the wardrobe. Lavatory cistern was badly cracked, bathroom blind broken and the mirror light cover melted;. Previous occupant's used soap still in the bathroom! No toiletries provided, only soap; no hairdryer. Apart from breakfast the dining room is closed except in summer so if you want to eat then it's in the bar, which is very brightly lit and somewhat austere (we didn't eat there so can’t comment on the food). We should probably have complained whilst there but it was a short stay so we didn't. Not an enjoyable experience, especially at £80 per night.

What a lovely find ! Stayed just for the 1 night while touring Scotland but wished it could have been for longer.Warm friendly welcome, nice room overlooking the beach , great food ( & very reasonably priced) .Never been to Cromarty or the Black isle before but its such a nice relaxed place with plenty to do it won't be long before we're back ,.
