The George Hotel & Montys - Cheltenham, United Kingdom 

We stayed for 1 night at The George, had a fantastic time and cannot recommend it highly enough. I note the comment from a previous reviewer about the decor of the hallways not being to the standard of the rooms, but don't let this put you off in any way, I'm sure they're in the process of updating and it only makes you appreciate the high standard of the rest of the refurbishment. The rooms and bathrooms are beautiful, bed was really comfy and the TV channels included Sky Sports. The dinner menu in Monty's was delicious - definately try the Chocolate Fondant dessert! The cocktail bartenders mix fab drinks and the atmosphere and entertainment were great. Parking was readily available at the hotel without any problem, the hotel is in an excellent location for the town centre and all the staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful.

Stayed at the hotel for a long weekend and thought it was fabulous. Junior suite thoroughly recommended - great bathroom with walk in shower and stand alone bath, very comfortable bed and contemporary decoration throughout. Dinner at Monty's brasserie was superb - good service and excellent food. Also had room service which was very quick and again, excellent quality. Also refreshing not to be charged extortionate service charges for room service and the drinks prices are very reasonable. Hotel is in the perfect location to walk into Cheltenham or explore the Cotswolds. It is obviously still undergoing refurbishment, given that the corridors and some of the carpets need updating. Our room was on the first floor to the front of the hotel and noise carried up from the bar so wouldn't recommend if you want an early night! However, we loved it and will definitely stay here again.
