Overall impressed with this. Easy parking - which is important in a city where it isn't easy to park at all. Comfortable room - much better space than many singles. Very comfy bed.
Could have done with repainting in one or two spots. The floorboards did rather creak, which was an issue if moving around the room. The desk facilities might be somewhat scant if you are travelling on business.
Very helpful reception staff, easy walk to pretty much all Canterbury attractions, and nice building.
Breakfast quite reasonable, although the promised cheese/ ham didn't exist.

After a eurotunnel "experience" we decided to postpone our visit to Brugge until the next day and spend the night in Canterbury. So this was a last-minute decison and lacked the usual research we take when staying away.
So the positives first.... good location for town centre, car parking behind hotel, good service, the breakfast was also good.
But.... this hotel is out of date and the rooms are tatty. They leave a card in the room so you can tell them what is wrong in your room... so i guess thats a sign.. and if they had also left a pen i could have filled it in!
Our towel rail was on high and couldn't be turned off so the whole room heated up on a summers day. We couldn't open the window as we were on the ground floor next to the smokers corner. Peeling paint in bathroom. Couldn't turn off shower. Top of tap missing. Wallpaper in room coming off wall. Very noisey room. Next to a storage room that staff used until late at night.
Really they could do with gutting the rooms and giving them a fresh look and feel. Just not up to standard.
