On first impressions, the Nebula Hotel doesn't look anything special. That is until you are shown to your room! The building itself is not exactly eyecatching, however this is quickly forgotten when you enter your fresh, clean and airy room. We stayed in the 'Garden Room' which boasts a kingsize bed, private patio doors and a newly fitted wet room. This is more than a home from home........... The owners are friendly and accommodating - in fact they can't do enough for you. Full English Breakfast does exactly what it says on the tin - with a quirky joke or two from the chef! The Thai restaurant within the hotel is supposed to be superb, although unfortunately, we had little time to experience.
I really doubt you will get more for your money in Liskeard or the surrounding area. Looe is only a short drive away, and Polperro and couple of miles further. The location is fantastic. We also stumbled on a go-karting track about 3 miles away.
I would definitely stay here again.

Had never visited Liskeard to stay before now and did a web search for some suitable accomodation. The Nebula looked nice enough from all the photos ,was reasonably priced and had above average reveiews - i have stayed in hundreds of hotels over the years and as an owner i know you will never be able to please all of the people all of the time (some people are just born to moan !!) and the Nebula does not profess to be a five star establishment - if you pay a reasonable price dont go looking for five star treatment !
I booked the room for myself and partner direct by phone and the owners were very polite and accomodating and said they looked forward to seeing us which i thought was a nice personal touch.
On arrival on the Saturday evening we were met by the owner ,Jeremy, who couldn't have been more friendly and showed us to our room before a quick tour of the hotel , filling us in with necessary information like breakfast times etc. along the way ,all very informal and people friendly.
The hotel bar works on an 'honesty' basis where by you chit for anything you have and quite literally help yourself (can't see the Marriot ever doing that !) and is well stocked with a variety of drinks, beverages etc.
The bedroom with ensuite we occupied was more than spacious and clean with a cosy feel to it that you don't get with main stream hoteliers. The bed was huge and from experience the next morning i can say it was more than comfortable.
I personally work up worse for wear after consuming a mixture of beer, port, vodka and rum the previous evening ( its not big and its not clever lol) but i was soon feeling much better after tucking into a lovely full English breakfast with toast and coffee (we were served by Tracy who was just as friendly and helpful as Jeremy )and yes there were other alternatives cereal etc.available if i had wanted them .
We checked out soon after and i commented to my partner that if we ever visited Liskeard again we would stay at the Nebula - i havent stayed anywhere else and i dont care what they are like -i enjoyed my stay at the Nebula- i would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone (except somebody expecting to be treated like royalty for £30 a night - get real those places just don't exist ) but if you want a comfortable stay at a reasonable price with a warm welcome then book into the Nebula.
Mr Charles
