Jolyon's Boutique Hotel - Cardiff, United Kingdom 

We are fussy people and have stayed in some swankey hotels. We thought it was great. Close to the bay with taxis outside. A well decorated room with a mix of contemporary and traditional and lovely bathroom. It was clean and all you could ask for. The owner was delightful, - friendly but not intrusive. He willingly helped with our bags. He went out of his way to phone his dad to recommend a nearby beach and even washed bird poo of our car. The pizza is really worth having a go - delicious and the staff are smiley. The breakfast was well presented and decent coffee. We think the price was fair and reasonable. You didnt feel like you'd been ripped off. We dont understand the put down reviews we've read. We guess you cant please everyone. But we will definitely return.

We stayed at Jolyon's last October so it was a no brainer going back, having enjoyed our last visit so much. The staff are all friendly and the owner was happy chatting over breakfast, which is a superb array of food freshly prepared and cooked for you. The rooms are clean and spacious and anyone looking for a small hotel in a wonderful city should look no further than Jolyon's. It's a real gem !!
