My wife and I (early 60's with a good deal of travel behind us) stayed for a 2 night layover enroute from Italy to Dublin. The hotel was chosen based on the Hilton name and its proximity to Stansted Airport, but with a fair amount of apprehension based on previous TripAdvisor comments. Nevertheless, the hotel was clean and the staff was proper, if not particularly pleasant. We were, however, taken aback by the costs of the amenities. For example, internet access was 5 Pounds for 30 minutes and a rather pedestrian breakfast was 17 1/2 Pounds per person. They even charged 2 Pounds/person to ride the shuttle from the hotel to the airport (though, in fairness, it was free from the airport to the hotel). All-in-all, this wasn't typical of Hilton Hotels we have stayed at in the past and will in most likelihood not be used on our next trip.
