It's always difficult to select a hotel based on other people's opinions so I'll simply list the facts about my stay at the Cedar Court last week. Car Park: very large, plenty of spaces but very dark (none of the large streetlamps were working) and probably quite intimidating for a female travelling alone. Reception: clean, spacious and well decorated. Staff were fast and efficient. Stairs/Lifts: Tatty. Threadbare carpets, chipped wood and lifts that appear to be pretty much at the end of their life. Room: Very clean and nicely decorated. Light switch was broken and remained so despite my informing reception that it was dangerous. Television was sitting on its stand at a 45 degree angle due to 2 missing wheels (again, it stayed like that for the 3 days I was there). One of the pictures on the wall had no glass and the frame was hanging off. The bed lined was freshly laundered and smelled nice but the sheet had a 50p sized hole in it and the duvet cover had black grease marks on the top. Neither of the bedside lamps were working. Walls very thin - the couple next door certainly weren't worried about the structural integrity of the bed! Bathroom: Clean, recently renovated (still had stickers on some of the fittings) and well equipped with a full compliment of toiletries. Shower was plumbed in backwards (turn the temp toward Cold and it got hotter, turn toward Hot and it was freezing). Extractor didn't work. The staff weren't the least bit interested in the issues I had with the room (not even the light switch which was pretty dangerous). I was told in no uncertain terms that because I'd booked through a late booking service, I was given one of their low-end rooms. I didn't bother to explain that I was looking for a hotel to stay in 4 nights every week for the next 13 months!

The first thing i have to say is that this hotel is nowhere near leeds, you can have a much cheaper, claener and overall better stay in leeds centre itself. The staff are incompetent useless and overall not interested in the customers wish. The restaurant staff are the worst, incompentent teenagers that dont have a clue what good manners are, they do not give good service, the food was cold and dry on both mornings of my stay. I shall not be staying here again ever.
