The Anvil Inn - Blandford Forum, United Kingdom 

We stayed at the hotel while attending a nearby wedding. The room itself was serviceable, though we were at the back, on the end and, with the window open overnight (necessary even in England in June!), there was a lot of unexpected traffic noise for such a small village. The bathroom had v little natural light and felt a bit small & pokey - nothing like the website photos. We had expected a bit more character, based on the thatch exterior and were disappointed, especially for the money paid. The highlight was the breakfast. Well-cooked and appetising, with friendly and prompt service - our stay ended on a positive note. A final word of warning is that the rooms are reached by climbing a narrow, curving and slightly alarming staircase. I would not recommend this hotel for anyone heavily pregnant, with children or with any mobility problems.

We stayed here for one night whilst travelling around Dorset. We received a friendly welcome. The room was clean and spacious with a nice bathroom with both bath and shower. The evening meal that we took in the restaurant was good, as was the cooked English breakfast. We will stay here again.
