I find it funny to think that people expect the "Ritz" at "Colditz" prices. 8 of us went there last year to watch the darts in blackpool and had a brilliant time. Josef the bar man was comedy genuis as was DJ Maurice and the bingo/diso that had us in stitches. If you take the place seriously and your looking for luxury look for something else, but for an entertaining stay in reasonable surroundings its brilliant and the price reflects good value.

Previous comments have called this the dirtiest hotel in England. I would definately agree. Our room (allegedly their best one!) wasn't ready on our arrival at 4.30pm although you can book in after 3pm and our coach driver had phoned ahead to inform the hotel of the exact time of arrival. Had to wait over an hour just to get a room - not what you need after an 8 hour journey. It was small but adequate. I would have expected some sort of cleaning to be carried out during our stay, but there wasn't any kind of room service. The food was barely edible and served on dirty crockery and cutlery. When I asked for clean cups, you swear I'd asked for the moon on a stick! This was a typical reaction from the staff. The (Polish? ) barman/receptionist was the only exception. He was always ready to help and seemed to be on-duty 24-7. Others in our group sayed at The Hollies, which is just across the road, and would recommend it if you want to stay on Albert Road.
