Overpriced for quality for service, facilities and food. Understaffed and under resourced for a four star hotel.

This is a really well placed and good looking hotel. All public areas are well groomed and the bars, restaurant and lounges are adequate.
Trouble really starts when you look at the less obvious places. Worst of the lot for us was our bath. Whilst sitting in it and contemplating my navel, my eyes were drawn to a strange mark around the underside of the seal between the bath fittings and the wall. It looked like a hole. It wasn't.... It was a large deposit of filth which the cleaners must have studiously ignored for many months. Great lumps of which fell into the bath when I sluiced it with some water.
We also had problems with re-stocking in the room. The toilet roll was half used when we arrived but a spare was available as it should be. Once the half roll was used, no more was supplied and we had to be frugal in the morning!! The daily biscuits were not replaced during the daily re-stock.
The patio was a building site with about 10% of the car park taken up also with builders supplies, meaning we had to park in some rather uncomfortable positions in a crowded car park, either climbing out of the car or falling out, depending on which side we were!
Adding insult to injury for us was the bill on departure.... I foolishly didn't read the presented document, not having my glasses to hand. If I had, I would have noticed a charge of ?20.25 for 'Lounge Food' which we didn't have, on a day when we weren't in the lounge at all.
All in all, a very poor impression from what should be a great hotel.
