Ard-na-Coille featured in the popular Monarch of the Glen BBC TV programme as Glenbogle Golf Club. Many of the cast members stayed in the guest house during the filming of the series.

Newtonmore is situated in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park, surrounded by the Cairngorm, Monadhliath mountain ranges and the River Spey. It is one of the most beautiful areas of the Scottish Highlands.There is something for everyone, including golf, fishing, pony trekking, deer stalking, the steam railway, skiing, water sports, Highland games, distilleries, castles, bird watching, mountain biking and walking. With snow capped mountains in the winter and an abundance of wildlife in the spring, the area presents breathtaking scenery all year round.
Highland Folk Museum (0.5 km) - Explore an early 18th century farming township, reconstructed using traditional building methods. Its turf houses are furnished with box beds, traditional cruisie lamps and open peat fires. Go back to school in the 1930s and see a working croft.
