Aquamarina Hotel - Budapest, Hungary 

Quirky hotel - revamped Soviet paddle steamer on the Danube. We had a huge well appointed room at the back (more like a suite really) with an entrance to the terrace. Reading through the precious comment we wondered about the cleaning. It was a bit haphazard - seems every other day rather than daily - and shampoo was only provided on day 3, but it was by no means dirty - just that the flor in the bathroom was not swept and some signs of our use of sinks were still there in the evening. The hotel is miles outside the city so if you want the city buzz it will not be a place for you. City transport is good but it's still a fair walk to catch the suburban rail (HEV) to the city. The bus was closer but not that frequent. It pays to work out the connections before you get there - the city website is helpful and with a few changes you can easily get there from the airport by public transport for a few quid (taxi is about ?15). But for serenity you can't beat it. Don't expect much in a way of food in the hotel - the restaurant was closed all the time we were there - possibly because there was hardly anyone staying. The minibar in the room was empty and I am not sure whether there was room service available. But there are plenty of food shacks and a restaurant on the river so, as long as you can decipher the menu (and are not a vegetarian) you will be OK. Breakfast was OK with a choice of cereals, meats, cheeses and egg dishes. Omlet comes with cooked ham and peppers and fried eggs are liberally sprinkled with paprika, so if you don't like it, make sure you say before they cook it. It helps if you know a bit of German because except for the reception staff, no one speaks English.

sono appena tornata da budapest !sono stata li con il mio fidanzato!!!sono un'agente di viaggi!!!e vi posso dire, che non ho mai soggiornato in un hotel così sporco!!!!infatti non riesco a capire come abbia fatto a ricevere le stelle che conta! l'hotel si trova disperso nel verde e per raggiungere i mezzi pubblici bisogna camminare 2 km a piedi!!!oppure spendere un cifrone esagerato!!!!sono arrivata il 26 e da allora non mi hanno mai cambiato l'asciugamano!!!!c'erano dal primo giorno incrostati i peli della barba del mio fidanzato!!!e li sono rimasti fino a ieri quando abbiamo lasciato l'albergo!!!!l'hotel vanta un frigobar in camera che era vuoto!completamente!!!!sono andata alla reception per reclamare e mi hanno dato 2 bicchieri dicendo che l'acqua del rubinetto era buona da bere!!!!la colazione ghiacciata!!!e il pane era duro come la roccia!!!!!tranne il primo giorno!!!!!!!INSOMMA DA DIMENTICARE!!!!!!!!
