I stayed at the Marlborough with some friends on the 19th July the night before my wedding, Then moved rooms the next day and spent my wedding night there. The 1st room was a bit dated and could do with a refurb but I found it all perfectly clean. The 2nd room, which they actually class as there bridal suite was a lot larger, well decorated with exposed beams etc and was very pleasent. If you need some where to stay for a few days it is very pleasent, the food we had the 1st evening was excellent, & breafast was good too. the staff all worked very hard. I do agree that it could be noisey in the evenings espiecially w/e's. But the bar is very pleasent and living in Witney I often will call in and have a drink and dont consider myself at all Dodgy! If you like 5 star treatment etc find somewhere else! but if you want reasonable cost accomadation that is central to Witney then give it a go!

We stayed at this hotel for one night in July. It is without question the most vile & disgusting place I have ever had the misfortune to stay in. When we arrived it took us 10 minutes to open the door - the lock was very dodgy & I wouldn't rate anyones chance of getting out in an emergency. Once we eventually got into the room - it was full of flies!! We wen tot Robert Dyas to get a fly spray! 2 of the lights weren't working & the room was shabby & dated. I wouldn't put my bag on the floor as I was worried it was infested. We returned late in the evening & the bar is nosie & full of dodgy people. There was a car in the car park & the alarm kept going off intermittantly all night. We rang reception but it was not in their 'bothered bag'. We went down for breakfast, the tables were so grimey & greasey that I couldn't even touch them. To be fair the breakfast was ok - although my husbands cup was so dirty he couldn't drink out of it. We have stayed in fabulous 5 star hotels, but have also stayed in travel Lodges. I was not expecting a 5 star accomodation, but the basic level of cleanliness was sadly lacking. I have written many reviews of Trip Advisor & I am not a 'wi nger' but this place is shocking. Please don't stay here.
