I stayed at the Thainstone Hotel, in Inverurie for a friends wedding, being held along the road at Pittodrie Hotel. This hotel is lovely. I had absolutely no complaints, and I even got breakfast delivered to my room. what i did have an issue with was the woman on reception who was exceedingly rude. I had emailed with regards to Early check in, and was told that this was ok'd and my room would be ready on arrival. It was not, I arrived at 11.30 - check in was 1hr later. the wedding began at 2pm. (!) I asked how long the room would take to be ready? she told me that she could not possibly answer that as she had no idea, but it would be some time. i asked if it would be appropriate for me to leave a number that she could contact me on, when the room was ready and that I would go and have a nose in town. this according to her was not neccessary. as the room all of a sudden would be ready in ten minutes. I explained that sorry i must have misunderstood, when you told me that you couldnt tell me how long it was going to be!?! She was very abrupt and rude, and i felt quite intimidated by her. i had been travelling all day and granted probably did not look as smart as the other residents, but I was hardly sitting in a car in a suit or dress, when I was just as comfy in my jeans.. However I do not think that it is an excuse to be rude to someone, especially at the rate at which I paid!!!! (although worth it!) all that went thru my mind was...im staying here luv, what im paying for one night,is your weeks wages! nonetheless!!!!! the room was superb, beautifully decorated huge bed, lovely furnishings and fittings, the bathroom was to die for, and the complimentary toiletries were of the highest standard! really really good products. The grounds were spectacular, and the building was stunning i could not fault the quality of the food, and the eagerness of the other staff! was brilliant. As I was heading out, someone else on reception was so wonderful and obliging that it made the witch from earlier seem like a distant memory. She was lovely and most helpful. All in all I rate my stay at this beautiful hotel, with cracking leisure facilities, internet in every room, and magical surroundings, a whopping 100/100! Have reccommended it to all of my friends and family and it would be excellent to go there again.

Brilliant hotel. Food was fantastic and staff were enthusiastic and helpful. We took our dog with us and not sure if we were stuck in a room out of the way. Standard of room was good, but no outlook and we were disturbed late at night and early morning with deliveries to hotel. Really enjoyed swimming pool and again were pleased with standards. Slight problem checking out in that we were given someone elses bill which we failed to notice at time, still good news for someone else.
