I stayed at the Bulfinch in May 2008 for four nights. I found the location of the hotel to be a bit removed from the main action of the town, but close enough to walk to Faniuel Hall and Quincy Market in about five minutes. That was actually a great thing since it seemed to be a bit quieter in the hotel, making it easier to sleep. I arrived at the hotel a bit too early for the 3:30 p.m. check-in but the hotel gladly held my bags while I searched for lunch in the area. It's only a short walk to the pubs that line the streets leading to the Boston Garden. The personnel at the hotel seemed friendly and helpful. When I returned to the hotel to check-in, the process was quick and efficient. The small lobby requires some manuevering if you have big bags. A nice touch - there's water dispensers next to the elevator, great refresh on a hot day. The rooms are small, but it is a city hotel in a really cool building. The style is a bit modern, with some retro touches. Because of the architecture of the building, my room had a funky, long hallway-shaped bathroom. The bathroom was nice, marble counters and good amenities. My bath only had a stand-up shower, which is fine for me, since I don't normally take baths in hotels. Good water pressure in the shower too! The bed was comfortable and the reading lights were adequate. The only complaints I had was there was no closet, just a wardrobe and more importantly to me, no luggage rack and that the air conditioner unit blew directly on you if you were working at the desk, which seems like I'm reaching to complain about something! I did not eat in the hotel restaurant so I can't comment on that. But I did really like this hotel. It was small enough to be friendly and it was only a long block from the Blue Line T stop (to go to and from the airport). I walked to my conference about a mile away and got to pass right by some of the historic sights in Boston. I would definitely stay in the Bulfinch again.

The room was everything advertized, clean, comfortable and above average in quality. We booked through hotwire so didn't know what were were getting but were very very pleased. It's not really close to all the attractions (except the Garden) but it was an easy walk to the Italian District and the Market area
