Botanico - Lisbon, Portugal 

We stayed at this hotel for one night before moving up the coast for a holiday. The easiest way to get to the hotel is to get a taxi straight from the airport. We normally always get the airport bus but as the taxi ride is only 12 euros it was roughly the same price. The receptionist ran out when the taxi arrived to ensure we were not over charged for the taxi ride and was veryhelpful. He gave us a run down of where to go in Lisbon and the welcoming port was a nice touch. The hotel was clean and certainly worth the money. We would recommend this hotel for a city break.

I stayed here in June 2008 with my parents. As soon as we drove up to the hotel in our Taxi, the staff was kind and helpful. Upon arriving we were offered a welcome drink, a choice of port wine, water and orang juice. The staff also showed us to our room and brought our luggage up for us. Since We were a group of three I slept in a cot, but the mattress and sheets were quiet comfortable. The bathroom was large and covered in marble. The room also had an LCD TV and a CD stereo as well as a safe and a minibar. The hotel staff went out of their way each day to give us restaurant recommendations and to make sure we knew where we were going. My only complaint was that it was on a large hill, but there is a way to get around it coming to and from Avenida Liberdade, which is very close to the hotel. But the hotel itself more than makes up for this. The breakfast is also great, with a variety of rolls, meats, cheeses, yogurt, fruit, juices, coffee, and many pastries. This was the perfect place to stay for a three night stay to Lisbon.
