I wanted to write a review on the Bristol Hotel in Reims, as it has had many bad write-ups on this web site. Our rooms were booked through our English tour company Grape Escapes as we were in Reims to tour the champagne region. We had 3 rooms booked as there were 6 females on the weekend tour and we stayed for 3 nights (rooms 21, 23 and 31). The hotel was fairly basic, def don't expect too much, but it is a reasonable price and when you are in Reims you are hardly in the room anyway, there are so many good restaurants and bars close by. The water in the shower was hot and good pressure, sheets and towels were all clean and our room was cleaned daily. The room had a nice small balcony that over looked the main pedestrian street. Yes the towels were a bit thin and the decor is dated, but it didn't really worry us. Our breakfast was good, basic French breaky, fresh bread nice coffee, boiled eggs all good. It was not hot enough in April to worry about air-con, but no there is no air-con and I would imagine in summer it would be a hot room. Can be noisy during the nights on the weekend as Reims is a major University town and there are a fair few young kids out drinking in the local bars, not causing any trouble but just creating some noise. My friend in room 31 said they did not hear the noise from the street so much. It's a great location esp. if you want to experience the bars and local restaurants. Prob not great hotel if you are having a romantic break but good for a group of people visiting the area and not wanting to spend too much time in the rooms. Parking was excellent. The station is right out the front and the hotel offer half price vouchers for each day which I think may be approx ?6.00 per day. I did not eat in the restaurant for lunch or dinner but we had some drinks there in the afternoon and it was very busy and the food looked good. Overall we had a pretty smooth and memorable experience!!
