Best Western Le Bois de la Marche - Liguge, France 

Set in a nice location we thought we had chosen well for our overnight stop en route to Calais from the south. How wrong we were. The room was OK - just - but very sad and neglected. The wooden safety rail on the balcony had rotted and in the garden we noticed the children's swing and slide were both rotten and broken . After eating elsewhere, we returned to the hotel to find other residents - namely beetles - too many for us to consider sharing with. We were forced to evacuate @ 1am to the local Ibis hotel - at 58 Euros instead of the 93 we were going to have to pay @ Best Western. The hotel Manager was as helpful as he could be to find us alternative accommodation which, under the circumstances was good of him.

We needed a stopover on the way from southwest France to Disneyland Paris, so we booked a luxury jacuzzi suite for me, my husband and our 4 year old son which cost E90 and we emailed to say that we needed a bed for my son. When we arrived we found a very friendly welcome. The room was huge and there was a double sofa bed for my son which was easy to unfold and had all of the bedding already on it! There was a brand new widescreen tv with english channels and the bathroom with jacuzzi was great fun!. The hotel comes under the suburb name of Liguge but is easy to find as it is signposted from the main roads into Poitiers and is only a few minutes drive out of the centre. It is near a hypermarket so picnicking in your huge room is easy, also there are some lovely places to eat in the mediaeval center of Poitiers. There is also a good sized swimming pool heated to bathwater temperature so lovely to relax in. We would come here again!!
