"Great choice"Posted: Mon, Nov 23 2009Value:
3Our family just came back after spending a week in Paris ( March 09 to 17th).
The Novotel Vaugirad is an excellent choice if you want to stay away from the tourist activities, yet be close enough to get to it. Our goal was to enjoy the Parisien experience from a local perspective and we found a great location in this hotel for that. Here are the reaons:
Location: A block away from the subway station with easy access to all major attractions within 15 - 20 minutes from the hotel. There are several good restaurants in the area and supermarkets and cafes within walking distance. Perfect if you want to experience the local life style.
Hotel: Like most european hotels, the rooms were smaller than North American standards, but we ( two adults and a teenager) were very comfortable. Our room was modern, clean, comfortable beds and with all the required amenities.
Staff: One of tyhe highlights of this hotel is the great staff they have. They were friendly and very professional. We did have a problem with a group of students being very noise near our room and complained to the manager . We were moved to a quiter area of the hotel and received a very nice letter explaining how they were dealing with the situation.
Breakfast: Our rate did not include breakfast ( 14.30 Euros per person) which is on the high side, however, our children travelling with adults do not pay, so our average ( our daughter did not have to pay for her breakfast) was similar to what you would pay outside and the breakfast buffet was very good.
Overall, if you are comfortable using the subway system and want to stay away from the busier areas of Paris, this hotel is a solid choice. We would go back without any reservation.
