As we had an early morning flight from Shannon, we booked the Park Inn due to its location to the airport. We only briefly glanced at the property's TripAdvisor reviews but thought we could tough it out for a night. How wrong we were. Truly, this is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in my entire life - and that includes stays in more than one Third World country. After being slightly comforted by the on-going lobby renovations, we were quite unprepared for the unclean state of the room. There were stains on the walls, stains on the mattresses, stains on the rugs, running yellow water in both the tub and the sink, a blocked sink drain, two washclothes operating as towels, moldy grout in the tub, and cheap, unkempt furniture. The room looked as if it were rented by the hour instead of the outrageous price we paid! Indeed, the housekeeping staff must be blind if they missed the stains, blocked drains, yellow water, and mold in this room. Frankly, I don't know how the front desk staff could have given us a key with anything less than an ashamed look. My favorite part of the room was the sign that said the door to the bathroom "must be kept open so that shower steam does not set off the fire alarm". It would have been priceless to have had the entire hotel evacuated due to one's shower. If I were ever to have an early flight from Shannon, I would either book a room in downtown Shannon and get up early or even sleep in the airport itself rather than return to the Park Inn. I wasn't expecting much but the condition of this hotel was outrageously bad (in the event you think I am one of those people who just like to complain, please see my other reviews). Ironically, the Park Inn is next door to a hotel management school.

It was terrible! When we were walking down the hallway to our room after we had checked in we noticed there was black stuff all over the walls, (there was even black stuff on the walls in our room!) We had two people in our room and the shower flooded with both of us because the shower curtains were so small. You almost needed some scuba gear to into the bathroom. Oh and the shower curtain would blow in while you tried to shower and it smelled like crap! And there were no bedskirts on the beds! So when you looked at it it said King Coil something another bedding. Also they only left one towel and no washclothes. Another time when we went up to our friends rooms there was this lampshade on this lamp and it wouldn't straighten up so it was just a crooked lampshade. And when you walk into the rooms the stink and smell like musk. Umm, when we went to the bar we asked for a margarita and the barteneder did'nt even know what it was she said she had never been asked to make one of "those" before and that she did'nt even know what was in it. Also another complaint about the shower you couldn't control how hard the water was coming out, so when I took a shower the water was coming out so hard that it hurt. And the breakfast was disgusting as well!
