I stayed at this hotel for ten days and It was great! The Hotel Malar had a charming character to it. It was a nice, clean, and safe hotel. The Owner Madam Caill, was a real delight as was her entire staff. I have never known a hotel owner and staff as truly fantastic, helpful, and tolerant as they were. I just could not say enough good things about them. I would recommend the Hotel Malar to everyone. I was sad to leave my new friends at the Hotel Malar. One day I will see them again when I stay at the hotel Malar. I wouldn't go anywhere else. No, I'm not getting any kick-backs for writing this. I'm doing it because the hotel and staff deserve a lot of praise. Roman, if you're reading this...You are the man!! Stay cool! (he's the weekend concierge). Great location. It's close to everything. It's awesome!

Well I booked a trip to Europe with my mom and we stayed at Hotel Malar in Paris. From the moment we walked in we were warmly welcomed by Mylene, the owner. "Have you been to Paris before," she asked. We had been to Paris 10 years ago and of course a lot has changed. Mylene had answers for all of our questions and answers to questions we never asked. There are a lot of bakeries, restaurants and a few grocery stores within 1 block of the hotel. Another block away is Rue Cler where the ouside markets and restaurants are. There is a lot of life on these streets, but at night was very quiet for sleeping. The hotel itself was very well kept. Very nice reception area with lots of brochures and maps of things to do in the city. Again, Mylene helped us with any questions. there is no elevator in the hotel, but it's not that bad. Packing light is key, right. The rooms could be considered small, but most rooms in Paris are not like rooms we find in the US. If you are in Paris you're not staying in your room much anyway, so who cares. My mom and I would leave by 0830 and come back about 3 or 4, stay in for an hour or so and head back out til 11pm. We were never in our room and that's the way we like it. The bathrooms have a stand-up shower which was a little tight, but it's something you get use to. Again you're not sleeping in the shower. The bed on the other hand was great. After a long day of eating, walking and looking the bed suited us fine. For the location and help of Mylene I would definitely stay at Hotel Malar again. Good price, good location and great staff. One more thing Barcelona was crazy when we flew there after the football game, but what a good time.

I have been staying at the Hotel Malar once a year for the past eight years. While there are many places to stay in Paris, this is my favorite. First of all, the Hotel Malar's location is superb. It's just a five-minute walk from the Eiffel Tower. The neighborhood is very safe and has many restaurants. The fabulous Rue Cler market is just four blocks away, as is the American University of Paris. Next, the staff bends over backwards to accommodate you. All of the people at the desk speak English and can give you some excellent recommendations. The owner of the hotel, Madame Caille, is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. The prices of the rooms are on par with other similar hotels in Paris. The Hotel Malar has wireless Internet, but it isn't free. You can get online with a credit card or by buying a 10-euro card at the front desk. I have not had one negative incident in all the time I have stayed at the Malar. I look forward to coming back every year. As you tackle Paris, the Malar is a great base to call "home."
