Passage Brady (1,2 km) is one of the two covered arcades located in the 10th arrondissement of Paris, constructed in 1828. It lies between rue du Faubourg-Saint-Denis and rue du Faubourg-Saint-Martin. It is famous for the several Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi restaurants located in the arcade.

Le Grand Rex (1,6 km): an old and famous theatre for movies and concerts in Paris. It is well known for its room with 2,800 seats (the largest in Europe), its starry vault and its Art Deco style architecture. It also features the largest screen in Europe.

I was surprised by the negative comments made by other reviewers. My room on the 4th floor was quiet and the quality was good- certainly not dirty as a couple of others stated. Yes, the bathroom needed smartening up as there was a little crack in the sink, but the room itself was pleasant. It was large, had a great view over the street below- with two balconies to stand on- good flat screen TV, mini bar, pleasant decor, clean bed linen. The breakfast buffet was good- there were lots of guests and the staff cleared tables and replaced food quickly. The location is brilliant- directly opposite the Eurostar terminal, connected to metro by an underpass, so perfect for those arriving by train as luggage can be left at the hotel until departure. The area was bustling and safe, with several cafes etc. The only complaint I have was the mattresses- they squeaked, as if stuffed with vinyl. It was maddening, as even the sound of slight movement was magnified into loud squeaks! Apart from that, the hotel was perfect for staying in a central location for train passengers in Paris.
