Domina Inn Piccolo address: Via Duca degli Abruzzi, 31, Portofino, 16034

Domina Inn Piccolo details: Portofino is one of the jewels that the world envies to Italy. The typical coloured houses, the blue of the sea reached by the luxuriant green of the vegetation contribute to create a corner of incomparable beauty. Hidden amidst the typical green of the “Riviera” the Domina Piccolo was originally an ancient and luxurious villa, evidence of the italian hospitality traditions.

We just completed a week in Portofino, and we strongly recommend the Piccolo Inn for the sea view and location to town. The staff couldn't have been any nicer or more helpful than they were. Breakfast items were the only weakness, but this is my 4th trip to Italy, and I've yet to receive a good breakfast regardless of where I have stayed. We were in room 207, sea view on an RCI exchange. For Italien standards, the room was very large/clean, especially the newly remodeled bathroom. We had two sets of windows that opened up to the most spectacular ocean view ever. The walk to Portofino was exactly 4 minutes, and has to be one of the nicest walkways in the world with the manicured gardens, brick/stone construction and sea views around every corner. We actually did the two hour walk to Rapello/Santa Marg. on the brick path through the forest above the road; again, breathtaking. I can't imagine a nicer, more centrally located hotel in the area. We would return in a hearbeat, and really didn't ever want to leave!!

We went to Portofino for a long weekend and this hotel was chosen during a search on the internet. I had heard about Portofino from different magazines and we wanted to visit. While the harbour of Portofino is really pretty and great for peoplewatching, the hotel itself is not extremely well located. We had paid extra for a sea view room but what we got was a first floor room situation right on the busy road that passes in front of the hotel. So the noise of the cars and the scooters were literally in the room when you leave the window open. The hotel has a privat cove where you can go down the steps and can swim, but we found it really dirty during the mornings (from the boats who anchor overnight). This is a nice hotel as long as you bear in mind that only 4 hotels in Portofino, so choices are limited. We didn't spend too much time at the hotel, so it was acceptable.
