Location

City Centre, Shopping Centre, Museum Area, Near Train Station, Near Subway, Old Town

Palazzo Cardinal Cesi is only a few yards from St Peter's Square, on the magnificent Via della Conciliazione, in what used to be called the Spina dei Borghi (the area lying between the old Borgo and the new Borgo). The road was designed by the architects Piacentini and Spaccarelli, and completed in 1950 with the erection of two rows of obelisks serving as lamp-posts. Its name, suggested by the journalist Franco Franchi, is a reference to the historic peace agreement between the Church and State: the Lateran Pacts.

Just a stone's throw away from St.Peter's Basilica, are the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel and Castle Sant'Angelo Fortress. Many of the city's other most celebrated sites and monuments, such as the imposing Pantheon, the enchanting Piazza Navona, the beautiful Piazza del Popolo and the famous Spanish Steps are only a 20 or 30 minute walk.

The nearby underground station, in addition to the many bus lines running through the area, provides quick and easy access to the rest of the city and all its most celebrated sights and monuments. In the immediate proximity of the property, you will find some of Rome's best shopping venues, excellent bars and restaurants.

A cosy sitting room known as "The Library" is at the disposal of the guests, who, here as in the other public rooms, can enjoy a good read or talk with friends, and be served refreshments by the bar service.
A buffet American breakfast, included in the room charge, is served in the old Refectory where the Fathers formerly used to meet to pray and have their meals, and where lunches or dinners, or small meetings for a maximum of 60 people, can be arranged upon request.
Beyond the imposing entrance door to the Palace, leaving the noise and hubbub of daily life outside, is a beautiful silent cloister. Here the guests can sit and feast their eyes on this scenery, with a wide range of drinks, cocktails and snacks.

it was a short trip with me miss in rome. only two days. but, the hotel was excellent. the location is just perfect. a few steps to reach the st. paul cathedral and like a ten minutes to reach the downtown. we really liked the atmosphere of this hotel. as far as we find out originally it was built for a clergyman (i think it's cardinal cesi) and it's still there somehow, but in a good way. old stones, old furnitures (but in really good condition), old style furnitures in the rooms, clean bath, clean rooms, clean hotel. the staff was really helpful (and a bit noble-like), good food and a really-really lovely inner garden! overall, it's absolutely recommended.
