Hotel Villa Savoia - Torino, Italy 

Booked the hotel several months in advance - seeking a hotel in Turin with a swimming pool - yet to find one! The web site featured several photographs of the hotel including an impressive pool (also shown in the hotel brochures). On arrival we checked-in to a suite whichwas excellent with a sizeable balcony overlooking the pool. Once unpacked I proceeded to find out protocol for pool use to be advised by a person, who by his dress was the head chef, that a pump had failed and the hotel was awaiting a replacement in the next few days. On check-out I commented to the receptionist that we were disappointed not to have use of the pool whereupon she explained the pool had not been in use for several months, indeed it was not a pool for using only a decorative feature of the hotel!! When I pointed out that the web site was misleading - we examined it together on her computer and under services it indicated "swimming pool". At this point I was advised that had I indicated in my booking that I was interested in swimming then I would have been advised of the decorative nature of the pool! Interestingly the web has been amended in the last day and the pool removed from the services list - I still have a copy from two days ago! Apart from this disappointment the hotel is very convenient for exploring Turin and the accommodation was clean, fresh and well serviced.
