Spent 2 nights at this hotel with 8 couples. Each couple had very depressing rooms. The bathrooms in some of the couples rooms were a shower, toilet, sink and bedet all in one with just a shower curtain separating the shower from the rest of the bathroom. The rooms were dark and dreary with misquito blood on the walls and stained carpeting. The hallway to the rooms is dark and dreary also. One person was handicaped and had to climb up the flight of stairs to get to the lobby. There is no elevator on the ground level. The staff is very rude especially the elderly gentleman at the front desk that is always annoyed. Breakfast is only croissants, coffee, juice. This was a terrible experience for beautiful Venice. Definitely upgrade to a 4 star hotel in Venice.

A solo female traveller in her fifties who stayed in this hotel in September, I found the room adequate though like other reviewers felt Venice in its own class for pricing. However, the real problem with the room was poor ventilation and it stank of cigarette smoke which the cleaners were unable to rectify. The material texture wallpaper probably made it impossible to rid of the smell. As a non smoker this caused me some distress and a headache but had paid in advance and not able to move on. I come from New Zealand where the smoking regulations are tighter than I observed in Europe so smoking may be a cultural issue.
The lack of assistance with luggage was also unhelpful.
On the positive side I note some reviewers complained re breakfast, but when I was there, there was a good range of cereal, bread, croissants and boiled eggs on a 'much as you want' basis so I felt that aspect good value. It is also convenient for the train and bus stations/exiting Venice and on a sufficiently busy but not noisy street to feel very safe even in the early hours. All linen was clean and the bed made daily.
