Le Grand Large - Biarritz, France 

Quiet, very big room (multiple bedrooms). Clean. Nice staff. I wish all hotels were like this. We only stayed here for one night (going to San Sebastian) but Biarritz seems to be very nice Nice hotel

My new husband and I started our honeymoon with 2 nights at Le Grand Large in Biarritz. I had suspected this to be the case but the hotel is large or grand whichever term you prefer. We had a room on the 6th floor facing the sea. I'd found it difficult to find a hotel that wasn't a B&B (don't really like them) and had a nice view without breaking the bank (the bank breaking was planned and achieved in San Sebastian!). Le Grand Large was ideal for us. We arrived and the airport and took a taxi to the hotel which was expensive for the distance but was very easy and hey we were on our honeymoon! The staff were very friendly and provided us with maps etc. The room was actually an apartment with a seperate bedroom area and a bunk bed room, useful for storing our clothes this time but this would be an ideal appartment for a family or group of friends. Appartment had kitchen area including fridge, a lounge area, nice bathroom with toiletries and a balcony, what a balcony! Very private, large and an amazing view. It rained in Biarritz on and off whilst we were there and there was the most amazing storm, great to sit on the balcony and watch with a beer! Biarritz is a pretty little place but I don't think I'd want to be here for more than a weekend. We did not eat in the restaurant but the food sounded nice and reasonably priced. Clientele seemed to be older french people. We had a couple of drinks at the bar which again were reasonable. Enjoyed Biarritz and would highly recommend the hotel, in fact I already have!
