Just right and great location for the price

I stayed here with a friend for 4 nights while visiting Paris. It is perfect for budget travelers - which we were. Located almost across the street from the Montparnasse station, the location is perfect and with so many metro options, you cannot go wrong. The rooms were small and quaint but very clean – as were the bathroom and WC. The only issues I had were: 1) the outlet in my room (#58) did not work – it was loose; a chair had to be placed against the plug to keep it in; 2) an alarm went off around 5am – not sure why. I am hoping to make another “quick trip” in either September or November of this year. If I do, I wil definitely plan on staying here.

Quality Hotel Needs Improvement!

My family and I stayed one night at the Quality Hotel Michel Montparnasse in April 2008. It was one night too many. The triple room we booked was smaller than a matchbox. It had three single beds crammed into a room that was not even suitable for two beds. The room had no window. It had a door that opened up to a public courtyard. This was totally unacceptable when traveling with a young child. We could not move around in the room and the beds were very tiny. The room was located in the back on the first floor. It was very noisy and we could hear people in the room above us. We complained about the state of the room to the front desk but were met with indifference by the clerk. We checked out the next morning. Overall, I was very disappointed with this hotel.

Hotel was excellent value for the Internet price we paid (?89), we stayed at another hotel in Paris the previous week and paid ?30 more for a smaller room, although that hotel was close to the Notre Dame which explains the price difference I suppose. Staff weren’t overly friendly, but not rude either. Luggage room was handy since we had to check out early and only flew out at 11 that night. Close proximity to the Metro, the bus service (no.96 goes everywhere) and the Montparnasse were all plus points
