4My husband had already been at this hotel for a week for work when I arrived in Paris and we stayed together for another week.
The staff was extremely friendly and there was always someone working that spoke fluent English. The week before I arrived, I called the hotel daily to speak to my husband (usually around 9pm there) and although I always received pleasant service, sometimes they only had one person working the front desk and that person also served as the bartender at the hotel bar...so the phone didn't always get picked up quickly.
The room was great. The bed was very comfortable and at my request, the hotel provided me several extra big fluffy pillows (I'm pregnant and sleep practically sitting up). The TV had two English channels (both news channels) however every once in a while, there were movies shown in English on one of the other channels (usually channel 20). The bathroom was clean with plenty of counter space for both of our toiletries. We made use of the in-room safe and found it easy to operate. Maid service was fantastic. Our room faced the street (we were in room 101) but didn't hear anything because of the double windows.
I guess the only small complaint we had was that the air conditioning in our room wasn't very strong. Since we visited in May, it wasn't too much of an issue but if we were there in the summer, it would be too hot in that particular room. My husband was there for work with a group and a few people from his group switched rooms due to the air conditioning so it only appears to be a problem in a few rooms.
The daily breakfast buffet was very nice. It featured the same thing nearly every day however there is quite a selection of things to choose from...from a hot breakfast (eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes) to cereals, yogurts, fruits, cheeses and a large assortment of pastries and wonderful French bread. There's also many types of juices as well as milks, teas and coffee. Depending on the room type, there may only be one breakfast included in the room rate and additional breakfasts are 18 Euros...I can't really say that the breakfast is worthy of 18 Euros however a good start if included in your room (if not, then I suggest heading out of the hotel, turning left at the corner and hitting the sandwich shop right next to the grocery store...a large sandwich, dessert and drink only cost 7 Euros - they also have a large assortment of breads and pastries).
The area around the hotel is wonderful. Although we were not there during a convention (the convention center is across the street), it's not an extremely congested area. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants around plus a grocery store right around the corner. The location of the subway is ideal, practically right outside the front door - we used the subway several times a day, it was extremely easy to navigate and saved us a ton of money in taxis.
