The Five Hotel is a stunning hotel with its unique style and flamboyant colours with a twist of elegance. The location in the Latin Quarter is perfect walking distance for the whole of Paris especially in the summer months when I visited. The staff were very friendly and extremely accomadating, when I was planning my birthday trip to Paris I wanted it to be one of memory. So I did a huge amount of research and the Five Hotel looked the most interesting style wise like a boutique hotel, also cleaniness was top of my list and it scored very high in the reviews. It was exceptionally clean and everything brand new to my delight I stayed in a standard room which was bisou however this was perfect for our stay exactly how it was advertised on the website. I can't wait to come back and stay at the five hotel and I recommend it completely. Also there was a piano playing on the saturday morning it could'nt have fulfilled the romance I have and always will of Paris. Claire Guest, Surrey August 30th 2007

The two most important things I look for in a hotel room are 1) quietness and 2) comfort. We got both at The Five Hotel, plus a whole lot more. The walls are completely soundproofed so we heard nothing from ajoining rooms--perfect! The bed was extremely comfortable, resulting in three nights of uninterrupted sleep. Our room was impeccably clean and the en-suite shower room was fantastic. Each room has a unique look and style. We stayed in 'Superior Glimmering with Baldaquin' Room 101 on the first floor. That's the black and white room with stars above the bed - very romantic! It's small and roomy, if that makes sense, and tastefully designed using the art of Isabel Emmerique. The hotel management have paid particularly close attention to even the smallest detail. The televison in the room is a Loewe digital with about 400 satellite channels--including two from Thailand, so my boyfriend was happy! The staff are very friendly and helpful and were always happy to point us in the right direction of where we wanted to go, including marking our route out on a map for us. On one occasion, during a heavy rain shower, I was offered an umbrella by the guy in reception when I needed to nip out to the shop around the corner. It's these little things that make a huge difference. TIP: There's a door outside each set of rooms. Close it over at night for additional soundproofing from the stairs. (I think perhaps the hotel management should consider keeping these intervening doors closed rather than propped open?) TIP: The Five Hotel is located on a quiet side street (Rue Flatters) that's not shown on most maps. You'll find it between Rue Berthollet and Rue Broca off Boulevard de Port-Royal. TIP: The hotel have a website for people who have stayed at the hotel: www.thefivespace.com It's got a lot of restaurant reviews and suggestions about what to do around the area. We only discovered this site after we checked out. TIP: There's a plethora of Asian restaurants within walking distance on Avenue de Choisy, however for genuine Thai food, you should visit Chieng Mai Thai restaurant, 12 Rue Frederice Sautin (Maubert-Mutualite Metro station). We booked our room directly through the hotel's website www.thefivehotel.com because they offer a discount (at the time of writing) if you stay three nights or more. I recommend this designer hotel for being arty, funky and the top-rated gay-friendly hotel in the Latin Quarter. Well done Five Hotel.
