Hotel de Bellevue - Paris, France     

Stayed for a weekend in Paris with the other half and this is one of the worst places I have ever had the displeasure of staying in. The room smelt of damp, the wallpaper was peeling off the wall, there were holes in the bedspread which looked filthy. The bathroom paint was flaking off the walls and the inside of the shower was orange and black. This was matched by the staff who couldn't seem less interested in doing anything, apart from telling us that breakfast was between 7 and 9.30 but to get there at 7 because they don't have enough tables and chairs and you'll have to queue. (We didn't even bother). The walls are also paper thin so you hear all the doors banging shut and all your neighbours. I couldn't recommend this hotel less, I have stayed in youth hostels that are cleaner and nicer than this and for the money it's disgusting, avoid it like the plague.

I have stayed in Bellevue with 2 friends last May, for vacation, and we had a very bad experience regarding the way we were treated by one of the receptionists. One day before we left we just asked him for a confirmation regarding our taxi to the airport and he came back to us in an extremly rude way, causing a bad discussion and making us realize that it was our first and last time in Bellevue. Other unpleasant items that must be considered are: there was no fridge in the badroom, only plastic glasses were available (many times they did not change it, and we had to use the same ones for 2 or 3 days, in spite of asking for new ones) and the breakfast was not good, with only a few seats available, causing a lot of confusion and even lines in the morning. In summary, the cost-benefit was not good, since the rates are not so cheap to make worth what we went through. I hope the hotel managers take this as a constructive review and perform the necessary changes in order to improve the quality of this well located hotel. Montmartre is great!
