4.8We wanted a lower cost hotel in close proximity to Gare du Nord and the Montmartre area, and Prelude Hotel Gare du Nord was the perfect choice for our final stop before returning to the U.S. My daughter, a medical student who had spent the summer in Africa, and I met in Paris before beginning a ten-day trip through Italy and Switzerland. Prelude Hotel Gare du Nord was willing to let us store a large bag until we returned to Paris at the end of our trip, saving us a lot of unnecessary lifting on the trains in Italy. Luckily, the hotel has a small elevator although you do have to climb several stairs to reach it. The staff at Prelude Hotel Gare du Nord was extremely helpful, including helping to identify the terminal we needed at Charles DeGaulle Airport since it wasn't provided by our airline. In fact, we found the staff to be the most helpful of any encountered throughout our trip!
The location was perfect for our return from Switzerland as we could walk from the train station (Gare du Nord) to the hotel and could easily get to the airport via train or taxi. We walked from the hotel to a show at the Moulin Rouge in the evening, and to Sacre Coeur in the morning. Breakfast was included in the room price and we enjoyed the healthy assortment of items very much.
The Prelude Hotel Gare du Nord is a great option for anyone wanting a comfortable, convenient location from which to base a visit in this area of Paris. The beds were comfortable and the rooms clean. It is an excellent value.
