Au Palais De Chaillot Hotel - Paris, France

This is a two star hotel- so don't expect luxury! The room was small but we were only there at night to sleep in it so it didn't bother me at all! More importantly it was warm, clean and comfortable. It was noisy from the street below- but it's in the centre of Paris, obviously there is going to be street noise. I used ear-plugs and had a great sleep, though my boyfriend didn't need them at all. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is a shop next door where we bought food for breakfast (breakfast wasn't included)and a cafe a couple of doors up where we got our tea/coffee in the morning. There was also a metro stop close by. I'd definitely stay here again, we encountered no problems.

Given a very, very small room at the top of four flights of stairs. No tea or coffee facilities. Even on the fourth floor you can hear all of the traffic on the very busy road and you can also wave at the office workers in the building opposite. Worst of all, we had a late afternoon flight on our departure day and hoped to spend most of the day in Paris but the man on reception refused to hold our luggage for the day. He suggested we take a short trip, 15 minutes was his estimate, to the gar du nord, and put our cases in the secure area for 1 euro and then collect it on our way to the airport. It took well over 1 hour each way, was difficult to find, costs 7euro each and completely ruined a whole day of a short trip. Beware of this hotel. Poor value for money and extremely unhelpful.

our stay at this hotel was absolutely wonderful... the man at the front desk was so funny and kind. in fact the whole staff was really really nice and helpful even when we had trouble with our french. the hotel is in the most amazing location. very safe and just minutes from the eifel tower, arc de triumph, etc.. it's in a really ritzy part of town and all the other hotels are of the luxury variety. the room we had was very cute and comfortable. very clean. breakfast was great. a great great place. i would stay at no other hotel in paris. this place is the most amazing value. loved it.
