2.8The first night they put us up in a standard room which was the size of a bed plus some little walking space around it. The fans from the aircon could be heard all night. Then they discovered they had given us the wrong room and put us into a much larger room with more comfort, which they called a superior room. It was good hotel standard. Facing the road it was a little noisy during the day but ok during the night. The service is ok but nothing to write home about. The location of the hotel is the redeeming feature. Walking distance to the Louvre, Madeleine cathedral, Les Halles, Opera, St Honore, Rue Rivoli, Tuilleries, etc. etc. Metro station close by (they were on strike again when we were there, no trains anywhere). We did not try the breakfast. 17 Euros for a croissant and a coffee is something I can't get used to easily. But then the cafe's in the area charge nearly that as well. There are plenty of hotels in the area. Look around.
