We've just come back from a 4 day stay at this hotel. Rooms small but adequate and just been decorated as they smelt of fresh paint. It is a way out of the city but metro entrance at end of street and easy peasy to use. Local area was friendly and genuine French not tourist French - it is a mixed neighbourhood which in my book is a positive, not a sniff of any trouble or danger as some reviews had led me to believe. We found the best restaurent on the corner by the entrances to the Maraichers Metro stop. This is the stop previous to the one you need but still only 3-4 minutes from hotel. You must visit this place the food was the best we'd seen or tasted and it's local. The waiter was so friendly even though our French is basic and his english non exisitant. He took plates from the other guests to show us what was on the menu and nobody seemed to mind. I think its called Le Restarau but the name hasn't come out well on the photo's. Its on the corner of the crossroads and has cream awnings.

We were here for a week. The hotel was a typical Parisian hotel. Rooms were small, just got 3 beds, a desk, tv on the wall (french only) and a very small wardrobe, like a childs size!! Quite funny really. We thought this was humorous because it was not going to get a family of 3's clothes hung up!! It is a basic hotel but its friendly, warm and clean. The maid came in every day, the sheets and towels were clean and replaced daily. The small things matter when you are on a budget. no air con, its a fan! There is a safety deposit box in reception. The staff were fab and helpful. No drinks facilities in the room but staff more than happy to get teas/coffees. There is a supermarket on the next street, open early till late. A street market on round the corner, twice a week. Overall, a really pleasant stay. The hotel is also one min from the metro, I think its porte de montrueil?3 stops from the end of line 9 anyway, access to pratically everywhere in Paris, including Disney!! I must say though, apparently this is classed as a bit of a dodgy area but we found no probs, just keep yourself to yourself. We walked throught the streets at night and never had a problem. Its not in the centre so its quiet. Its what you want for a pleasant break, and anyway, you should be out seeing those beautiful sights!!! An amazing city. We will be going back!!
