Booked at the Residence Imperiale for two days in August. We arrived at 10:30am in the morning, and went straight to the hotel expecting to drop our luggage off. We were told that there was a room available and that we would not have to wait until the standard 2:00pm that other hotels insist on! The hotel room was lovely and clean and relatively spacious in comparison to other Paris hotels I have stayed in. The location was good, but you would have to expect a 10 min walk to the Champs Elysees. However, there was a good collection of bars and restaurants within spitting distance of the hotel. The lounge bar a few doors along served amazing food and offered an extensive wine list. The reception staff were extremely helpful and there was always someone on receptiion to help. Breakfast was also a pleasant surprise. Coffee/tea/hot chocolate, lovely croissants, toast and eggs. Not exactly Ritz-Carlton breakfast but good given the value for money this hotel offers. Would definitely stay here again.

As the household trip organizer it was my duty and delight to find a hotel in Paris for us. Having never been there and not knowing the city, I started here and weeded through 1600 listed hotels to find the ones that met our criteria - affordable, near a metro stop. clean, near restaurants good neighbourhood and great reviews from other travellers. This hotel meet all that It also is a hop skip and jump from the Charles de Gaulle airport bus stop (Save a bundle on transport from the airport and buy a return ticket at the airport- E20 return - Les Cars Air France #2) The hotel is in the 16th arr., a few blocks from the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs d'Elysees on the other side of the Arc, I have to disagree with the previous reviewer from Dublin - this is not a remote area. The metro is very close to the hotel and takes you everywhere and fast too. And anyway one you put foot to pavement it is surprising how much you walk, We ended up walking- 10-15 Km per day (6-10 Mi). There are several restaurants in the next block. which served to get us started in the morning. As has been said, the hotel has a buffet but it is about E14. Each. The neighbourhood is slightly upscale and quiet, and as well, there are huge hotels and convention centre close by. We never felt and discomfort coming back at night. The hotel is small and the rooms are small, but so what? You came to Paris to stay in your hotel room?. We got a superior room with air conditoning (which we didnt need) and a LCD tv with BBC & CNN as English offerings. The rooms were kept clean. Our room faced the back-very quiet. As well, our room had a bath with a shower and tub and quality shower soaps and things. The desk staff were helpful and polite and spoke English- some better than others. I went on the hotel site and found a seniors rate (60+) and combined with going there on the cusp of tourist season, we paid about half what the going rate is now We were entirely satisfied.
