Touraine Opera - Paris, France     

i went this year to this hotel and i have only today read the reviews on trip advisor. its not as bad as its made out to be, i found it in easy reach of the opera and the main shopping area which means that there are plenty of metro stations and buses etc to get you around paris. the reception staff kept themselves to themselves but the breakfast room staff were more than friendly. it is a very basic hotel but you pay for what you get, i didnt pay that much for my stay in paris and got what i expected for my money! i think it is in a good location and i didnt hear any street noise even though my room faced the street (mind you if you have been walking around paris all day i would sleep through anything!) just a word of advise about travelling around paris, use the red tourist buses, it cost me 20 euros for 2 days and you can get on and off when you like at 8 different points which is a good way to see everything that paris has to offer!!

Between our group, we had 3 rooms and all 3 rooms had problems. I had a problem with the shower flooding the bathroom floor, one of the other rooms had a problem with air conditioning and the other had a problem with the toilet. Breakfast Bar was a joke - they had a large group staying there at the same time as us and they ran out of breakfast. We did not even go down to the dungeon breakfast bar that late either. Don't know when it was issued with 3 stars but it certainly does not warrant it. Have to admit that the staff did try hard but the the Hotel was just very very run down.
