No air conditioning was probably our single biggest complaint about this hotel. When we tried to open the window for some breeze, we were overwhelmed by the traffic noise on a very busy street. The room was really tiny, barely enough room to walk around the sagging twin beds. The only staircase was a steep tight spiral stair with an elevator that only stopped in between floors , so your first step out of the tiny elevator, was right onto the stairs - try that with your hands full of baggage. The bathroom was clean, however, which was the one point in the hotel's favor. The location was way down Rue De Rennes, a long way from St Germain and the Seine, which was where we liked to spend time in Paris. I don't understand the 3 star rating for this place. It's a one or two star at the very most.

We booked through a travel agent, requesting a 3 star hotel in the St. Germain area. In fact this hotel, despite its name, is a few steps from the Montparnasse Tower and a good way from St. Germain. A previous name for the hotel, one can see, has been removed and replaced by this new (we think misleading) name. The rooms were small and furniture in poor condition. The bedding was clean and replaced daily. The bathroom was small and not pleasant. The room smelled. Staff were unhelpful and generally officious. We needed a pharmacy and we believe they actually lied about the nearest one, claiming it would not be open at weekends, which it was. We also needed a taxi but they claimed there was no point in phoning for one since they never arrived and would not take four passengers (ourselves and our friends). We found one immediately outside the hotel and had no problem. All together a most unpleasant experience and visitors would do well to avoid this hotel.
