We stayed two nights at the Madeleine Haussman Hotel in Paris early February 2008. The room we stayed in was quite spacious but the furniture in it was very outdated. Worse was the cleanliness of the room or better, the lack thereof. The bathroom was not clean at all and therefore our overall experience was not good. Breakfast was served in a very cold basement! The food was average and the setting could not have been worse. Only the location is good for this hotel as is the hotel staff which is friendly. However the staff seems to speak only French, which was not a problem for us. But we noticed that they could not help other guests appropriately who were not fluent in French.

My wife and I, along with another couple booked this hotel several months ago as part of a 3 city stay between France and Italy. We've stayed in other European Hotels in the past and knew that the rooms in general are not that big, compared to that of hotels in the US. Well the room was not big, however very clean and we were very happy. The hotel is centrally located and the staff was outstanding. I would like to commend Emmannelle Anfray for her outstanding service provided to us during the railroad strike. Because of this strike, our overnight train was cancelled from Paris to Venice; we were literally stranded and without being able to speak french. Ms. Anfray went above and beyond her employment status and assisted us with alternate means to our Venice destination; OUTSTANDING - what an angel!!! If my wife and are ever go to Paris again, this will be the Hotel that we will stay in. Les Hotels Emeraude - you have an outstanding employee working for you, thank you! Robert & Maribel Marin
